I have further info for the Mt. Shasta Gathering and also request putting my website http://www.thelighteam.com next to my name in contacts for I will be giving directions, showing a map and probably follow up info and photos. The gathering will be held at Stewart Hot Springs...a lovely setting with lots of running water and large trees. We will gather around Walking Eagles lodge area around a fire that will be going for 24 hours: from sunrise May 8th to sunrise May 9th. We recommend people bring drums, food, water, warm clothes they may need to be at ease and stay as long as they like. I will send you two pictures in the next few days as the hour is very late. One is of 7 eagles flying in a circle above the initial activation ceremony March 22 on Mt. Shasta. The other is a picture in the ceremony where we brought the eagle and condor feather together - symbolically bringing together North and South America. Incidentally, the e-mail response to the gathering was far reaching ... from Hawaii to So. Africa. The family is ready to take action in service to the Earth.

If you want to camp (Stewart charges a fee of $15.00) or rent a room at the hot
springs please make arrangements with Stewart directly at 530 938-2222.
Please help network the event through e-mails and for those that cannot
attend any of the ceremony sites in person link in through thought, prayer
and intention where ever you may be. It will be a joy to have you come and
celebrate with us.

Mt. Whitney, California
Robert John (cell) 909-621-0890 - Raymond Hunter 909-397-0334

My name is Ray Hunter from Lone Pine, and will be hosting (ambassador) the medicine wheel ceremony at the Mt Whitney site. Can you please post the following to all connecting website pertaining to this ceremony.

Protocol: These are only a few of the protocol items, as there will be more at camp. This protocol is set so that there is no confusion between the drum, and camps. Women on their moon (menstrual period) may NOT attend this ceremony. You will be able to take photos at the main camp only. Please come with only good intent and positive energy, and be respectful to others, land, and water. Bring something to contribute to the camp. Individuals may bring their own crystals, please keep it to a minimum. Each person bringing crystals will need to check in with Ray or Robert John before their crystals are brought to the site for further details. Participants may bring prayer sticks, and prayer ties. Do not cross in the circle when you first come to the drum, always go around. No alcohol or mind-altering drugs allowed. No campfires other than the two main campfires. There will be only one ceremony around the drum for everyone to participate in. Please do not just do as you would like, as this is a ceremony, and you need to be mindful that your thoughts, behavior, and what you say effect the energy around the drum and camps.

Directions: Take U.S. 395 North to Lone Pine. Go left (west) at the only stop light in town. This is Whitney Portal road. There will be flagging out marking the way. Go up this road approx. 7 miles. Just before the first switch back to whitney portal, there is a road that veers to the right. Take this road to the forest service sign where it gets nearer to Hogback creek, and go left. Go to the end of the road. You will have to park down lower from the main camp and walk in (<1/8 mi.). Please park in the pullouts. If you have a trailer, you may have to park it down on the graded road, and drive up. From North: U.S. 395 south, Go right at the light in Lone Pine, follow the directions above.

Lake Mead, Nevada
Shar Napp 805-577-9176 - sharetheessence@redjellyfish.net
Lorna Paquin 702-293-1043

We will gather at the Callville Bay Campsite which is on the northwest side of Lake Mead, near the Callville Marina #2.  On the morning of the 8th, we will gather at the Callville Campsite at 5:30 am and hike approximately 20 to 30 minutes up a mountain overlooking Lake Mead. There we will see a beautiful view of Lake Mead and a circle of surrounding mountains, quite private from the nearby marina. This is where the sacred stone was planted on March 6th along by Bennie LeBeau.
All are invited to bring drums and vibrational instruments, songs to share and gifts for Mother Earth. We will keep the vibration going from 6 am to 6 am on the 9th as we connect to the energies of the other 18 points and to the Grandmothers at the Tetons.  Some Guardians may come for only a few hours and some may stay for the 24 hours, rotating out as needed.  Others, who are drawn to be with us but unable to make the climb, may choose to hold space at our 'base camp'.  All Ways are welcomed and honored with the intention of participating together in Unity  - *One heart  *One Mind  *One Circle -  so the Balance and Harmony of Gaia and her waters may be healed.

Practical Issues - Camping is available on a first-come, first-served basis at $10 per site. Some sites have a campfire ring. Several of us will be arriving Friday night.  Bathroom facilities are nearby as is a small snack bar. The terrain is inclined and small rocks cover the path.  Hiking shoes are recommended, as are umbrellas and flashlights.  Bring water, food & we would suggest that all food be tightly zipped/contained, as there are coyotes in the area.

From Boulder City, driving north on Northshore Road, Rt. 147 you will see a sign for Callville Bay Marina (#2) and campground to the right.  Phone for campground information; 1-800-255-5561.

Drive straight through town on Route 66, then take a right onto First St. At the end of First St., go right to the first stop light. At the light go left onto Lobo Canyon Rd. Follow Lobo Canyon Road up the mountain for about 12 miles. You will see the site near the side of the road. I will be at Herschel this Saturday and am open to taking a group of people with me (the forecast is 20 C for Sat.!). I have been to Herschel before and the land there is Sacred. There are medicine wheels, tipi rings, buffalo jumps, petroglyphs and the Ancient Echoes Interpretive Centre.and so on. This town is beside Eagle Creek which is part of the medicine wheel.

Saturday, May 8 at 9:00 a.m. (sharp) we will leave my house at 3102 Caen Street (I live in Montgomery close to the highway we will be taking), arrive at Herschel at 10:30. An interpreter will give us an introduction to the land, and I will lead us into a ceremony. Drums will be supplied for those who wish to borrow one. We will drum for one hour from noon to 1:00 and will be back at the Interpretive Centre by 1:30 where we will have tea and coffee (by donation) and lunch (everyone will bring their own lunch). Their will be a shared cost for gas.

If you would like to drive out and can take some passengers, let me know how many you can take with you. I will supply a map on Saturday morning. Lake Sullivan - Red Deer River, Alberta
Sullivan Lake is a large dry lake in East Central Alberta. In ages past it was the home to teeming herds of Buffalo where the Cree and Blackfoot peoples found nourishment and sustenance. Today the ground is cracked and dry, the lake is dry. The land is dotted with oil and gas wells. Near by are coal-fired power generation stations.

Nearby, the Red Deer River runs through the spoke of the Medicine Wheel and is the main body of water. The location that we have chosen for the ceremony is down near the waters of this River. A picture of the location that we will use is seen below. This location is on the River Bank next to the river in the Valley to the south of the Highway on the east site of the river. There is an approach road opposite the public campground. The Morin Bridge on Highway 27 can be seen in the disance. This location is near both Drumheller and Three Hills, Alberta and is about 150 Kms from Calgary. This site lies on the spoke of the wheel at this point.

The group will meet at the location near the Morin Bridge on the Red Deer River no later than 10:00am on Saturday, May 8th. Drumming will start at 11:00am. Prayers and Sacred Offerinqs will be made at Noon. Ceremony will conclude at 2:00pm. The group will enjoy a Pot Luck Feast at the site (weather permitting otherwise an alternate location in the town of Morin will be used.) After the Lunch we will have story telling and a short presentation on aboriginal sacred sites in the local area including the Hand Hills/Sullivan Lake area.

Lake Louise, Alberta

I will be the Ambassador for the Lake Louise Gathering located in the Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada. My name is Alvin Manitopyes and I am a Plains Cree/Anishnawbe First Nations and I can be reached at amanito@telus.net The Indigenous organization I am with is the Strongheart Institute of Traditional Knowledge and our website is www.strongheart-institute.com

The following is a schedule for the May 8 , 2004 Lake Louise Gathering: Sunrise Ceremony: Sanctuary Retreat, Gold
en, BC. On Friday afternoon of May 7 the construction of the sweatlodge will occur and camping will be made available. At sunrise there will be a lighting of a sacred fire which will also heat the rocks for a Cree sweatlodge ceremony. Prayers will be spoken and prayer songs sung for the purpose of this special day and offerings will be blessed. The fire will be kept burning for the duration of the day and people will keep prayer vigil over this fire. Participants will then travel in pilgrimage to Lake Louise to meet with other people for another ceremony.

Noon: A gathering with prayers, the offering of the offerings, followed by a celebration of singing and drumming. A First Nations declaration designating Lake Louise as a sacred site will be proclaimed. 4:00 PM: Feasting Potluck Ceremony at Sanctuary Retreat, Golden, BC. Evening celebration of drumming and singing will conclude the day. Directions to the retreat will be posted soon.
In spirit, Alvin Manitopyes

Starwalker writes: A fairly large group who are desiring to meet at Lake Louise on 5/8 for the Medicine Wheel ceremony are networked and ready to gather. Prayers were said, asking for the right person to come forth. As of yesterday, a man of Celt [Druid] lineage has stepped forward and accepted to take the lead on 5/8. Dancing Otter heard the call from Spirit and made contact with us. This is what he wrote:

It is an honour to be part of this manifestation, celebration, transmutation. I have perused the information you have included, and I am entirely unfamiliar with much of what is here. I am a Celt, and do not have experience with much of this, although having said that, I feel so incredibly drawn to it. I envision what you have written so clearly, and I know that Creator and Mother Gaia will use me as an instrument. I am not familiar with Medicine bundles, or Prayer Sticks, but something you have written is ringing in my body. If the white man sits in the North, my tribe is the origin of that delineation of human beings. In many ways, I feel altogether moved by Creator and Mother Gaia to be the conduit, and it falls into place in my heart and consciousness that I embody my tribe (Druid) in this gathering.

Some of us will prepare the site with prayer ceremony and plant a crystal in the lake on the Taurus Full Moon [May 3/4] prior to the event, as Bennie has done in most areas. I live one hour from the Lk. Louise, in Golden, BC, and am very familiar with the area.
I will be happy to field all enquiries at this end. We are presently exploring the possibility of camping at Lake Louise [Banff National Park] as these facilities are not yet open for the season. At the 6000 foot level and 50N lattitude [Lake Louise], spring breakup has not occurred. I look forward to hearing further from you as soon as possible in this regard ...In Oneness, Starwalker -- starwlkr@redshift.bc.ca

Ocean Springs, Mississippi
Thank you for providing information regarding the May 8 ceremonies. Although we are far beyond the 600-mile range, we hope to add good energy to this event. We have arranged to have a place for ceremony on the Mississippi Gulf Coast at Ocean Springs, Miss., on May 8 in conjunction with the Great Medicine Wheel ceremonies at the Tetons. We will gather from 10:30 a.m to 1:30 p.m. to coordinate our ceremonies with others around the world. We will anchor the energy of the Great Medicine Wheel with the waters of the Gulf, asking that the Earthly Mother's blessings of water help extinguish the fires of human destruction, giving balance to our world. We will be where the fresh water springs of replenishment meet with the salty tears of the Earthly Mother's oceans, the very lifeblood of our world. From this womb of life, we will offer prayers for healing, wholeness and balance for all our relations -- one world, one people -- red, yellow, black, white -- one Dream of the World. Our drums will be as prayers, in sync with the heart beat of the Earthly Mother. All who cannot make it to the ceremonies in the West are welcome to join us here.

Menlo Park, California
I am gathering people for ceremony in Menlo Park CA. As the power and energy of ceremonies increases with the number of participants, and part of the courage to continue comes from knowing how much others resonate with our vision, I want to share with you an exerpt from the invitation I sent. We will focus our energies on Mt. Shasta, the source of our San Francisco Bay waters, and one of the 19 spokes of the wheel. The spirits in Yellowstone say that imbalances there are both warning and opportunity. They invite us to use the heat and energy building under the lake to fuel our positive visions for the future. In our local ceremony we will focus on spinning, interweaving, and strengthening our visions. We’ll call on the sacred mountains that surround the Bay—Diablo, Hamilton, Unhumum, San Bruno, and Mt. Tamalpais—as well as the Bay and river waters, to help us see beyond our despair and into another dimension holding the potential for a clean, vibrant, healthy ecosystem, earth, and cosmos.

Ash Cave, Southern Ohio
(near Hocking Hills). Some will camp on Friday evening near Ash Cave, so someone will be there, should you decide to come early. If possible, please bring something to share with community for a potluck at Noon, before the ceremony. Since this is a Native American ceremony, we will honor these ways and ask women to wear long skirts. Sometimes it is requested that sleeveless tops not be worn, so shawls are always a good idea to use as extra coverage should you need it. Drums, rattles, flutes, songs, prayers, etc., are welcome. For those who might not be familiar with Native American ceremony, pipe tobacco (no additives, "American Spirit" is always welcome), sage, flat cedar and/or sweetgrass make a nice thank you for the Pipe Carrier leading ceremony. If it's wrapped in red (cotton) cloth, that's nice too. This is only a suggestion and gifts are never mandatory. Let your heart direct you. I have been told that Ash Cave is very accessible and that there are many benches along the way for those needing a little more time to get to the cave.

If an area does not yet have someone to lead ceremony and you are drawn to participate, perhaps Spirit is asking you to step forward. If your intent is pure and your heart and mind are in a sacred place, you cannot do anything wrong.

Lake Sullivan, North, Washington State
A group of us are committed to holding the point at Lake Sullivan North, Washington, which is just up the road from me. Phyllis: violetvisions@surf1.ws

We will try for the Noisy Creek Group Campground.  I say 'try' because the campgrounds are not officially open so it is on a first come first serve basis and about the only one that does NOT have a gate locked on it.  Ranger said if we get up there early on Friday should be no problem.  She, Nan Berger, also said she would do a recon of the site and call Friday morning at circa 8:00 a.m. with the status quo.

DIRECTIONS: North on Highway 20 (which changes to Highway 30 at Tiger Pass cutoff) to the Lake Sullivan turnoff (Right turn) just South of Ione; take Lake Sullivan Road to the Noisy Creek Campground (approximately ten minutes).  Noisy Creek Group Campsite is the first camp you come to on the South end of the Lake.  There are five camp sites w/ a Group Fire Ring and Toilets, as well as individual rings and tables.  Can get map at local Ranger station in Newport or go to www.povn.com.

NOTE:  Bring Toilet paper and Water (as the water may not be turned on yet, if you don't want to draw from the creek.  Water tasted fine to me.)

As to protocol, it has been suggested that we bring:
1.  Prayer sticks.
2.  Staff representing your Nation or your Family.
3.  Tobacco or Cornmeal, according to your tradition.
4.  Flags for the Four Directions (we will provide).
5.  A sizeable rock of meaning to place on the Wheel and leave.
6.  Any other rocks, gems or crystals, programed  for BALANCE.
7.  Drums and any other musicals.
8.  Seeds to plant or place in the creek.
9.  A clear mind, body, spirit and heart.

Traditional Prayer Sticks are usually:
* Made out of cedar and are forked.
* Are equivalent to the length from the maker's elbow to the tips of fingers.
* Are taken from a tree that the maker feels connected to.
* Tobacco is offered to the largest tree of the same species in the area.
* Permission is asked to take a part of its relative.
* The bark can be stripped.
* The bark can be carved on the stick.
* One feather on the prayer stick.
* A bit of tobacco is placed in a red cloth and tied to one of the forks.
* Fur or bone from an animal that the maker honors is tied to the stick.
* Metal or stones should not be tied to the stick.
* It is customary to say prayers silently as one makes the prayer stick.

NOTE -We have extra Turkey Feathers.

STAFF:  Wood unknown:  Something symbolic of your Nation or Family and whatever other objects symbolize your visions or dreams, such as colors, feathers, crystals, teeth, bone, fur, etc.

For those who arrive on Friday, there will be an Evening Star Ceremony at sunset; a Morning Star Ceremony at dawn.  The Universal Massive Medicine Wheel Ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday with drumming beginning at high noon.  Closing Ceremony at 2:00 p.m.

Please feel free to invite and forward this info to any and all folks that you think would be interested and of same intent.  If I have forgotten anything will send later.  Any questions please email.  Can try and call but good luck!  447 2012.  An RSVP would be nice and with anticipated time of arrival.

We are not Medicine Women; we are only hosting this event to give those of us who wish to hook up w/ this Massive Medicine Wheel Ceremony and give support to this most honorable Vision.  We would most heartily and joyfully welcome a Medicine Man or Woman for this ceremony.  We are humbled and honored by this task and opportunity.  Creator is our guide. Thank you.   And most sincere gratitude to Bennie LeBeau for his Vision, and his efforts and fortitude to make this a reality, and  to all our relations.

Kaua`i, Hawaii
Kaua`i responds to the call from other Indigenous nations to gather and assist in restoring balance to the Earth and all its inhabitants. The call is for all who are willing to join in balance, harmony and peace for this sacred ritual where the whole of Kaua`i is the Medicine Wheel:

West: Polihale
North: Queen Emma’s Baths
East: Anahola
South: Mahalepu

The Vision for Kauai:  At each cardinal point, a smaller Medicine Wheel will be formed of the people gathering there. In the center of each Medicine Wheel will be placed Yellow cloth, symbolizing the Great Spirit and Peace, on to

point of the smaller Medicine Wheels will be as follows:

West             Black, lava rock
North            Blue, Lapiz
East              Purple, Amethyst
South           White, Moonstone
